It’s important not to lose sight of what this season is truly about.

OMG, it’s officially the first Christmas week of the new decade!
While some people are scrambling around with last-minute shopping for gifts or that perfect turkey, it’s important not to lose sight of what this season is truly about. Over the years, we’ve moved ’tis the season to be jolly from embracing joy to purchasing that new toy. However, with everything that has transpired over this year, one can see that this global pandemic has started positioning us back in alignment with the things that truly matter in life — #faith, #family, and #purpose.
You see, when you have limited resources or are no longer distracted by the busyness of life, it’s interesting to know how much space within your life becomes available. Just think a year ago, many people believed that purchasing expensive gifts to symbolize one’s love or working a ridiculous amount of hours to define one’s exceptional service was considered NORMAL. Yet, even with this “status quo,” some of the dearest ties within families were missing because there wasn’t always enough time to get things done. Now, fast forward a few months, this “NEW NORMAL” has opened the eyes of people all across the globe.
This “NEW NORMAL” has opened the eyes of people all across the globe.
So as you enter the remaining days of the holiday season, continue to see the season through the new lens associated with the new normal. Exchanging gifts, singing carols, and making delicious meals are enjoyable things to do; however, they should not overshadow or replace the precious jewels rooted in the season's real reason. These gifts, thankfully, aren’t seasonal or time-stamped. You can give and receive them at any moment, which makes them even more attractive. Now, can I share a secret? Here’s the cherry on top with this deal…the gifts are free and limitless. Since these gifts are free, let’s unwrap them a little earlier this year in hopes to build them a permanent shelf within our circle of life.
At this moment, become a gift giver and carrier of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, self-control, gentleness, and faithfulness.
You see, with these gems, you can make the world a better place through your encounters, strengthen family ties, and free yourself from additional stressors that aren’t good for your overall health.
Just think, by deciding to walk in love or in any of these gifts for that matter, you’re shining light into the dark places of life.
Are you ready?
"Become a gift giver and carrier of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, self-control, gentleness, and faithfulness."
